Negative Space Drawing
DSC00938.jpg
1. Technical Skills Justification: 1. I rushed my thumbnails and didn’t come out well and was not complete.
2. My pattern is all right.
3. I thought my final drawing meets.
2. Creative Problem-Solving Skills Justification: I think that meets because the pattern makes more shapes when compressed and it is more balanced in between light and dark for the negative space. There are islands of negative space surround by positive space.
3. Why do artists make thumbnail sketches before starting a formal drawing? In what ways did it affect your work? It gives them an idea about what they’re going to draw. It helped me to map out the picture what to draw.
4. Why does it matter what pattern you choose for your background? How do different patterns affect the "look" of this project? It matters what pattern you use if you want it darker or lighter when you draw them closer or more apart.

Leaf Designs
leaf#1.jpgsymmetry

leaf#2.jpg Rhythm

Technical Skills Justification: Partially Meets the Standard because I rush it a little bit and the glue smudged and I did tension, balance and rhythm and tried my best to get them done on time. I think that I could been more careful with them.
2. Creative Problem-Solving Skills Justification: I think that the three designs that created did meet the stander but I have not created a fourth one. So I think I would get a Partially Meets.
3. Which of the four designs do you feel is the most successful in terms of using positive and negative space well? Please explain. I really like the rhythm one because it looks like it’s actually moving and I had help with it and over all I like the artistic movement in the design.
4. Which one of the four designs do you feel best communicates the assigned Principle of Art? Please explain. The rhythm it was most carefully created with time and craftsmanship out of all of them.
